Starting our own Christmas Traditions

I can't believe the holidays are over. Despite getting stuck at the in laws for the week of Christmas, this Christmas was one of the best. We decided early on that this was the year we'd start our own traditions and stay home for the holiday. The week before Christmas we went to Temple Square to see the lights. This was number one on my list of traditions. It ended up being the busiest time to go seeing that there was a jazz game and an event at the conference center, which made parking a nightmare. The night turned out well though as we got snowed on quite a bit. Number two was buy an ornament that expresses the year. Three on our list was make Christmas eve dinner along with a few deserts. Four is open pajamas on Christmas eve. And last on our list was to go shopping for discount Christmas decor after Christmas. Well we kept all our traditions and Christmas this year was great. Ayden got a lot of clothes since he got so many toys for his birthday. He did get a farm though, which happens to be his most favorite toy now. Axton didn't really get much. I guess he didn't really need anything since he just gets Ayden's stuff. We did get him a soother for his crib, because Ayden's not quite ready to give his up. Eric got sick at his mom's the weekend before Christmas and we didn't want to risk driving home and him getting worse so we stayed the whole week. I drove down to Provo Monday night with my sister to pick up all our gifts and things we'd need for Christmas. I got everything i wanted this year. I spent the day with my amazing family, we had a very white christmas, and i got to start my very own family traditions. Here are some pictures we took over the holidays. Enjoy and Happy New Year!!

Axton looking way cute!

Axton's blessing

Me and my birthday boy

Ayden's Cars cake

I feel like i haven't blogged in forever! A lot has happened this month. Ayden had his first birthday on the 2nd. He had an awesome cars themed party. We all had a lot of fun. Axton was also blessed on the 2nd. He looked so darn handsome. We have our house on the market through prudential real estate and we don't know where we are going once it sells. Sunday we are going to fly to florida to spend Thanksgiving with my family. I am way excited to see everyone and let them meet Axton. Holidays with my family are so much more fun and special than they are here. Well, enjoy some pictures from this month.

Picture Tag

I was tagged to post the 4th picture in my 4th folder so here it is...

This is Ayden sleeping. I think he was 6 months old here...just guessing by what pajamas he's wearing. He's so adorable when he's sleeping.

I tag whoever has not done this.

Homes, Schools and Babies

We are finally getting things rolling on selling our house. The buyers came by Thursday and were very happy with the condition of the house and are now in the process of getting their loan. This kind of happened quicker than we excpected seeing that we haven't heard from them in a month or two. It will be nice to get out of Provo. We are planning on staying with Eric's mom for a few months to save up a good down payment for our next house and to wait for our credit to get a little higher. I know it will be hard on us but it will also be so great to have some help with the boys.

I was just starting to think about going to school for nursing down here(Provo) when we found out that we were selling the house. The nursing program up there(Roy) is really hard to get into and very competitive. I might just go for something a little easier like medical assisting or billing and coding for now. People keep giving me their opinions on me going to school with 2 young babies but it's something i really want to do while they're young and i AM going to do it. Having the security to be able to give my kids what they need and even want is very important to me. I don't want them to miss out on things just because we can't afford it. I always put my kids needs and wants before mine and it kinda hurts when i see parents do the opposite. There are a lot of different types of nurses out there and they don't all require these crazy long hours like people keep telling me. I know what I'm doing and my job is not ever going to get in the way of spending time with my family.

Bridger, my one and only nephew, had his 1st birthday this weekend. It was a lot of fun. The party was a costume party. Bridger was dressed as a monkey and was just adorable. Ayden was a pumpkin and Axton was a dalmation puppy. Everyone looked great in there costumes. I wish my husband would have joined in and dressed up. After eating cake Bridger and Ayden both got in the bath. It was so cute watching them spash around in there together. I'm sure they'll be getting baths together a lot. Thats the fun part about being family. Ayden's 1st birthday party is next saturday and i am way excited for him. We are also getting Axton blessed on sunday, so we are looking at a pretty busy weekend this week.

This is the time of my life

So, I've been so busy with my 2 boys that I haven't really had the time to sit down and blog. Now that the boys are napping, I can just write a little bit to update you on my life.
Axton is now 4 weeks old is looking so healthy. He eats like a pig so that's really no surprise. Ayden is just over 11 months and is a handful!! He now has mastered the kitchen cabinets and the grab and run technique. ( this is where he grabs something he's not supposed to and takes off laughing and running as fast as he can.) It's a lot of work keeping up with him but i love every second of it.
I took Ayden to the duck pond at BYU today. Just so you know, finding parking at a university during homecoming is a pain!! Actually, it's still a pain even when it's not homecoming. Anyways, we had a lot of fun. He would giggle so hard when the ducks would fight each other for the bread. He didn't really understand that he was supposed to throw the bread. It was hard to get good pictures of him cause right when i put him down he'd take off after the ducks and almost land in the pond. It was so cute watching him smile and want to get close to the duckies.
Life with 2 kids isn't that much harder than 1 unless we leave the house, then it can be a little difficult. The constant feeding and changing diapers is exhausting. Sometimes i even forget to eat because i'm just too busy. I do get some free time during their naps, and i usually spend that time sitting in front of the tv. The cleaning and cooking i save for when Eric is home to help me. I wouldn't change any of this for the world. I love my family so much and am grateful for all that we have. It's so nice that we own a house, have a nice van, 2 wonderful sons, Eric's business, delicious food, and so much more that a lot of people don't have. I want to go back to church. I feel like not liking the college ward we're in isn't a just reason for not going. i've met 3 of the ladies in our ward in the past few weeks and i really would like to get to know them. It doesn't seem like the neighbor is serious about buying the house so we might as well make it work and get to know some people.

My new little angel

Axton James Wiggins decided he had it with being in mommy's tummy. He was born September 13 weighing 6lbs. 1oz. and 19in. long. He is a healthy little boy and the delivery went great. They wouldn't admit me till i dilated at least one cm. in an hour(since i was only 36 weeks) So it took 3 trips to the hospital friday and saturday before they realized this baby WAS coming. I was in so much pain. I was dilated 5cm. before i got my epidural. But once i was admited, it only took 3 hours and he was here. He is the total opposite of Ayden and such a cuddly little boy. I'll try to post pics soon. We are all doing great now that he's finally here!!

Feeling Crafty

The other day while shopping with a friend, i came across the cutest burp cloths. The crappy part was that they were $15 for just 3. I couldn't see myself spending that much on something that's going to be used for cleaning up after a newborn. I decided i could make my own. I went to the store and bought a pack of 12 pre-folded cloth diapers for $12 and a quarter of a yard of material for $1.50(will make 2 burp cloths). I also had more material at home. I went home, got to work, and this is what i came up with.

I think i did a pretty good job for it being my first time. They are not perfect but i sure do like them. I made some girly ones for my friends just because i love giving homemade gifts. Well, that's what I've been up to for the last 2 days.
